Salah in islam

As-salamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh, my dear reputed brother and sisters. moment, I wish to speak with you from the heart about commodity so foundational to our faith that without it, the structure of Islam can not stand.
I’m speaking about the Second pillar of Islam — our cherished Salah. Yes, Salah in Islam is n’t simply a ritual act or a diurnal routine; it’s a lifeline, a source of strength, a direct discussion with Allah, our Creator.

What Is the Second Pillar of Islam?

However, “ What’s the Second pillar of Islam? ”, also know with certainty — it is Salah, If anyone among you has ever wondered. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ emphasized this again and again. After the Shahadah, the evidence of faith, the most critical act a Muslim must establish is the Islamic prayer.

Not just on Fridays, not only in Ramadan, but every single day, five times a day. This is what we call the Muslim diurnal prayer, and it’s the soul of our connection with Allah.

Story That Shows the Significance of Salah in Islam

Allow me to partake a story I frequently recall from my youngish days studying in a madrasa under a cherished Shaykh in India. One of the senior uncles in our community was known for noway missing his Salah in the masjid, rain or shine.

One day, a heavy thunderstorm struck, and numerous of us youngish boys dithered to leave our homes. But SubhanAllah, this uncle, wrapped in nothing further than a plastic capelet, walked through the slush and knee-deep water just to make it to Fajr prayer.

When someone asked him why he did n’t just supplicate at home, he smiled and said, “ My Rabb delays for me at His house. How can I be late? ” That day, I understood what it means to live the significance of Salah in Islam.

Salah Was Given Directly to the Prophet ﷺ

My dear bones, the Second pillar of Islam was n’t given in an ordinary way. Unlike other commandments, Allah gave this gift to our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ during the miraculous trip of Isra and Mi’raj — not through Jibreel( AS), but directly.

suppose about this The Prophet ﷺ was raised to the welkin to admit the command of Salah. However, “ What’s the Second pillar of Islam? ”, tell them it’s that prayer which Allah gave to us directly, If someone still asks you. This alone should tell us the significance of Salah in Islam.

Inner and Outer Dimensions of Salah in Islam

In the Hanafi academy, we emphasize not only the outside form but also the inward spirit of Salah. It is n’t enough to go through the movements we must supplicate with presence, with understanding, with love.

When we stand in Qiyam, bow in Ruku, and fall into Sujood, our hearts should fluctuate with modesty.

I flash back formerly during Taraweeh in Ramadan, a youthful boy stood beside me. He’d learned only a many surahs, but he recited with similar attention that I wept. After the prayer, I asked him why he supplicated so unfeignedly. He said, “ My mama told me Allah listens further when you bruit from your heart. ” SubhanAllah, similar wisdom from a child teaches us that Islamic prayer is further than duty — it is love.

How the Muslim Diurnal Prayer Shapes Character

The Muslim diurnal prayer also shapes our character. I recall a man who was formerly harsh and short-tempered, known for arguing in the request. But when he began to establish his five prayers regularly, especially in the masjid, we saw a change.

His tone softened, he smiled more, and he indeed began volunteering to help the senior. Why? Because Salah purifies the heart. That’s the significance of Salah in Islam — it reforms the soul.

Don’t Treat Salah as a Burden

Brother and sisters, let us not treat Salah as a burden or a box to check. Rather, let us fete it as the Second pillar of Islam, the foundation upon which all other acts of deification rest. When we perform our Islamic prayer with sincerity, it protects us from sin and brings us nearer to Allah.

However, begin with one prayer, If you’re floundering. Just one. Make it your anchor.

One of my scholars, now a reputed imam himself, told me that it was committing to Fajr prayer during his university days that saved him from falling into bad habits. He said, “ It was like having a rope that pulled me back to Allah every morning. ”

Begin With Salah — Your Anchor to Peace

Now I ask each of you then — do you feel distant from Allah? Do you seek peace in your heart? Begin with Salah. Flash back, it’s the Second pillar of Islam, not a small matter.

It’s so essential that the Prophet ﷺ said, “ The first thing you’ll be asked about on the Day of Judgment is your prayer. ” Not your wealth, not your job, not your family, but your Salah. This highlights the significance of Salah in Islam in the clearest way.

Tell Others Why Salah Matters

still, a new Muslim, or indeed someone far from the deen asks you, If a child. ” And when they ask why it matters, tell them the stories of the uncle in the rain, the boy in Taraweeh, the man who changed his life. Tell them that the Muslim diurnal prayer is n’t just a duty it is a mercy.

Dua for All of Us

May Allah make us all among those who cover our prayers, love our prayers, and rise in rank through our prayers. Ameen.
